    TECHNICAL DIRECTOR — BRANDYWINE VALLEY CHURCH

    ABOUT BRANDYWINE VALLEY CHURCH

    Brandywine Valley Church exists to introduce people to Jesus Christ and help them follow Him. Located in North Wilmington, Delaware, we are a growing church in the midst of an exciting season of ministry. We run three Sunday services and stream live each week. Our staff culture is collaborative, team-driven, and deeply committed to excellence in everything we do.


    THE OPPORTUNITY

    We are looking for a skilled, ministry-minded Technical Director to lead all audio, video, and lighting (AVL) operations at Brandywine. This is a pivotal role on our Worship Arts team. You'll own the production environment for our Sunday services, events, and livestream, while maintaining and developing a team of dedicated volunteers.


    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    Provide leadership and oversight for all AVL support across Sunday services, special events, and livestream

    • Oversee maintenance and operation of all audio, video, lighting, and production systems
    • Recruit, train, schedule, and support both volunteers and production staff to serve with skill and confidence
    • Serve as the primary audio lead while intentionally developing others to lead at a high level
    • Collaborate closely with the Worship Arts Pastor and ministry staff to find the best technical solutions for Brandywine's ministry needs
    • Coordinate technical support for weddings, funerals, conferences, retreats, recording sessions, and other events
    • Respond to emergency AVL needs promptly and facilitate timely repairs
    • Maintain clear, professional communication with staff, volunteers, and church members


    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    - Bachelor's in a music-related field, or 4+ years of professional experience in live sound, broadcast, production, or recording

    • Demonstrated ability to mix audio and operate lighting, presentation, and broadcast software
    • Familiarity with AVL wiring, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance
    • Musical background and sensitivity to musical, visual, and ministry excellence
    • Active follower of Jesus Christ with a consistent personal faith and local church involvement
    • Team-oriented and collaborative, with the ability to work calmly under pressure
    • Familiarity with ProPresenter, Planning Center, ProTools, Ableton, Logic Pro, After Effects, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalents is a plus but not required

  • BUSINESS MANAGER

    BUSINESS MANAGER — BRANDYWINE VALLEY CHURCH

    WILMINGTON, DELAWARE | PART-TIME


    Purpose

    Support the day-to-day business and financial operations of the church in partnership with Breakwater Accounting & Advisory and in support of the Executive Pastor, consistent with BVC's mission: To introduce people to Jesus Christ and help them follow Him.


    Key Responsibilities

    Congregational Interface

    • Serve as the friendly point of contact for congregants on giving, statements, reimbursements, and other business questions.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality of all giving, personnel, and financial records.

    Deposits & Banking (WSFS)

    • Count, verify, and prepare weekly offerings for deposit; make in-person deposits at WSFS.

    Contributions Reporting

    • Oversee the maintenance of accurate giving records in Pushpay and prepare annual and on-request giving statements.
    • Reconcile contributions to deposits and to Breakwater’s records; resolve discrepancies and donor questions.

    Restricted Giving & Non-Cash Gifts

    • Track designated/restricted funds (missions, benevolence, memorial, building) to ensure use aligns with donor intent.
    • Coordinate receipt and acknowledgment of stock and other non-cash gifts in line with IRS requirements.

    Accounts Payable

    • Serve as the church-side point of contact for Accounts Payable, which is processed by Breakwater.
    • Collect invoices, verify coding, obtain approvals, and submit to Breakwater on time.
    • Manage vendor W-9s and assist with year-end 1099 coordination.

    Reimbursements & Credit Cards

    • Review staff reimbursement requests and mileage logs for documentation and coding before sending to Breakwater.
    • Reconcile monthly church credit card statements; collect receipts and coding from cardholders.

    Benefits – 403(b) & HSA

    • Manage 403(b) contributions: coordinate elections and confirm payroll remittances post correctly with the provider.
    • Manage HSA contributions and serve as the staff resource for enrollment and contribution questions.

    Liaison with Breakwater

    • Act as the designated point of contact between BVBC and Breakwater.
    • Provide timely documentation, attend scheduled meetings, and follow up on open items.
    • Review Breakwater’s monthly financial statements with the Executive Pastor and flag questions.

    Support to the Executive Pastor

    • Assist with the annual budget, audit/review prep, and board reporting (heavy lifting handled by Breakwater).
    • Perform other business and administrative tasks as assigned.


    Qualifications

    Professional

    • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion with money and confidential records.
    • Experience with deposits, contributions, AP, or benefits in a church, nonprofit, or small-business setting.
    • Proficient with Word, Excel, and email; willing to learn QuickBooks Online, Pushpay, and Gusto.
    • Organized, dependable, and able to meet recurring deadlines.
    • Warm, professional written and verbal communication.

    Personal

    • Baptized follower of Jesus Christ aligned with BVC’s Statement of Faith and vision.
    • Member of BVC, or willing to become a member upon hire.
    • Vibrant, authentic personal walk with the Lord; collaborative, pastoral, and team-oriented.

    Working Relationships

    • Reports to the Executive Pastor.
    • Designated point of contact with Breakwater Accounting & Advisory.
    • Works closely with the Lead Pastor, Finance Committee Chair, and church staff.
